Have you ever toyed with the idea of writing a story or two? Maybe you’ve lived an interesting life, maybe you’re a storyteller at heart, maybe you just love the thought of putting pen to paper and letting your imagination fly! If any part of this sounds intriguing, this might be the class for you. Over a period of three weeks you will hear how I, a former science teacher and intuitive healer, learned how to tap into my creative self and found the confidence to write my recently published memoir, “When My Mother was a Mountain.” Join me as I show you how to quiet your logical mind and slip into your creative center so you can access the artistic parts of you. Each of us has unique, creative abilities as well as varying degrees of confidence and experience. As a teacher for over forty years I have learned how to create a supportive and stimulating class environment. This “hands-on” class is for all ability levels and it will be loaded with surprises. Our focus will be on the basics of the “story” and not grammar/style. Come with a large notebook and pen and be ready to explore areas of your creativity you never imagined. Furred, feathered, scaled or even bald pets are beautiful! Please bring two printed copies of an 8x8inch or slightly smaller portrait photo of your pet to class. We will learn how to score, break, and snip glass and ceramics down to shape and glue to our substrate. On the last day of class we will finish with grout. No experience required! All Materials/Tools provided. A material fee of $35 must be paid to the instructor on the first night of class.

Enjoy a relaxing evening sipping hot chocolate or tea while carving thoughtful designs into pre-made pottery by Janna and Zachary. Learn the sgraffito technique—scratching through colored slip to reveal the clay beneath—and leave your piece for firing. Finished work ready for pickup two weeks later. All tools and materials provided. $20 materials fee payable to the instructor. No experience needed.

This week-long day camp will use your child’s imagination, focus and energy to create a one act play from the ground up! We will practice theater exercises and develop characters, then we will weave together an improvised story that will be rehearsed and performed on the final day. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to practice developing their creativity while working together cooperatively with others. Elise Voigt is an actor and theater educator with over 20 years of experience and loves sharing her skills and knowledge with adults and children as a journey of self-discovery and self-renewal. No experience necessary! Come out and Play! For ages 9-14.
