Open to all levels and paint mediums, these one-night workshops by Jessie are designed to give students the fundamentals of painting different types of landscapes. 

Trees: In this class, open to all levels, students will learn to paint trees with strong form, texture, and movement. We’ll study values, color, and tree forms to capture depth and character. Open to all paint mediums. Upon registration a simple list of materials will be sent out.

Fall Forests: In this class, open to all levels, students will learn the fundamentals of color so they can paint their favorite New England fall scenes! Open to all paint mediums. Upon registration a simple list of materials will be sent out.

Water: In this class, open to all levels, students will learn to paint water from placid ponds to splashing waves. We’ll study wave structure, reflections, transparency, and color. Open to all paint mediums. Upon registration a simple list of materials will be sent out.

Winter Scenes: In this class, open to all levels, students will learn how to bring pale winter scenes to life through focusing on form and light. We'll study the colors of snow, the shapes of winter plants, and learn to notice the interesting moments that make this time of year unique. Open to all paint mediums. Upon registration a simple list of materials will be sent out.

Are you comfortable with your clay abilities and just looking for a place to work and improve your skills? Join us in the Morse High School Ceramics Studio and start making all those things you have been dreaming up! This is not an instructor lead class, but the instructor will be on site working in case you need something. $75 for materials and studio fee, payable to instructor, must be paid on the first night of class. *Purchasing additional clay: The fee is an additional $75 to cover the firing, glazes and other consumables used during class. Please note: If you miss a class, you cannot make-up the class at another time. The ceramics schedule is very tight and these classes are usually full. Thank you for your understanding! *There will be class on 10/12 & 1/18. **No Class: 11/23.

Students will explore easy design tips, work with Canva templates, add photos and text, and leave with a completed flyer ready to print or share online. No graphic design experience needed. Students should bring: laptop computer, a free or paid Canva account, photos they would like to use, an idea for their flyer, basic wording/details for the project (event info, business name, dates, contact information, etc.) Perfect for small business owners, artists, nonprofits, craft fair vendors, event organizers, and anyone wanting to create better-looking promotional materials quickly and confidently.

Make and Take Fabric Pumpkins

Skill level: beginner to intermediate. Materials you will need to bring: 1 Fat Quarter or 1/3 yards cotton fabric, thread & needle, ribbon or other embellishment as desired. Tapestry Weaving: Beginning & Beyond

*This is a two-day weekend workshop: Saturday & Sunday October 17-18. Have you ever wanted to try tapestry weaving, but didn’t know where to begin? Perhaps you’ve tried it on your own and are ready for some help. In this intensive, two day workshop you’ll learn some of the fundamentals of tapestry weaving. You’ll be guided step-by-step through various techniques while exploring the creative possibilities. Beginner and intermediate levels are welcome, but no previous weaving experience is necessary. Even an experienced weaver can benefit from a refresher and Barbara’s artistry offers something for everyone. There is a maximum of ten students to allow for plenty of individual attention. Participants will be guided step by step through the process of warping a loom as well as weaving a design that practices a mix of skills. You’ll create a tapestry sampler that will be a reference for the future. Cost includes use of a loom and tapestry bobbins during class as well as all necessary yarns and extensive handouts. Please feel free to bring additional yarns for weft if you'd like.

*A materials fee of $20 is due to the instructor on the first day of the workshop. **There is a cancellation fee of $20 if you register and need to cancel for whatever reason. 

Please bring lunch each day as we'll take a 30 minute break to recharge! We have a fridge that can be used to store perishable items.

Instructor, Barbara Burns, studied tapestry at West Dean College in Sussex, England as well as here in the US, most notably with Archie Brennan and Susan Martin Maffei. She has taught private students and workshops in New England, Ireland and England. Barbara has exhibited and won numerous awards for her tapestries both nationally and internationally.
